You, Me & Tuscany Just Landed on Peacock, With a Netflix Date Already Set

Four months after it left theaters, Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page’s romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany has officially arrived on Peacock, giving fans who skipped the theatrical run their first real chance to watch it at home.

The film originally opened in U.S. theaters on April 10, 2026, from Universal Pictures and Will Packer Productions, before moving to digital rental platforms in May.

Its arrival on Peacock today follows Universal’s now fairly consistent release pattern, since the studio’s theatrical titles have generally landed on its own streaming service roughly four months after their theatrical debut, matching recent releases like Wicked: For Good and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

The story follows Anna, played by Bailey, a former aspiring chef who loses both her job and her housing in New York and impulsively flies to Tuscany after a chance encounter with a handsome stranger named Matteo.

When she discovers his family’s villa isn’t as empty as she believed, she panics and claims to be his fiancée, a lie that spirals further out of control once she meets his cousin Michael, played by Page, and finds herself falling for him instead.

Directed by Kat Coiro, known for the Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson rom-com Marry Me, the film was written by Ryan and Kristin Engle and shot on location across Italy.

Critically, the film landed as a mixed but generally warm reception. It holds a 65 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes from 132 reviews, with the platform’s critics’ consensus describing it as a sweet-natured throwback that stays pleasingly light even if it doesn’t fully earn every plot turn.

At the box office, it grossed roughly $22 million worldwide during its theatrical run, a modest but not unusual result for an original rom-com in a marketplace increasingly dominated by franchise releases.

Several reviewers noted that the genre itself has grown rare in theaters, with most romantic comedies now premiering directly on streaming platforms instead, making the film’s theatrical release something of an outlier by design.

For Page, the choice to take on a rom-com specifically was tied to that same trend. In an interview with People, he addressed the frequent claim that the genre is dying The idea that the rom-com is dead.

Love definitely isn’t dead. Love will save us. And I think that I’m happy to wave that flag. Bailey, meanwhile, has spoken about being drawn to her character’s arc, telling People she was very intrigued by Anna’s storyline… by her character, by her vision and passion that she has and the wants and goals for herself.”

For anyone planning their streaming schedule further out, there’s already a second date worth knowing. Under Universal’s current distribution agreement, films typically stay on Peacock for an exclusive four-month window before moving to Netflix.

Following that pattern, You, Me & Tuscany is scheduled to leave Peacock and premiere on Netflix on December 7, 2026, exactly four months after today’s Peacock debut.

It will then continue rotating between Netflix and Peacock for the remainder of its distribution window, giving viewers two separate opportunities to catch it depending on which service they already use.

Whether it’s watched today on Peacock or later this winter on Netflix, You, Me & Tuscany joins a small but notable wave of theatrical rom-coms this year betting that audiences will still show up, in theaters or otherwise, for a genre the industry has spent years describing as endangered.
